Questions

Septic and service questions

Short, plain answers. If yours is not here, call.

How do I know you are licensed?

The license number and the board are in the footer of every page. Look the number up with the board before you sign.

What should I do if sewage is backing up?

Stop using water, keep the lid closed, keep children and pets away, and call. The repair page has the four steps.

Where is my tank and its lid?

The permit file for the house usually shows it. If not, we probe, mark the lids and give you a map.

What does a visit cost, and what does it include?

A visit for a new system is how we write the estimate. A repair visit to find the cause is billed, and the amount is credited if you hire us. The pricing page has the full list.

Do nights and weekends cost more?

We do not run an all-night line. Sewage coming into the house is the one job we come out for in the evening, and it costs more, at a rate we tell you on the phone first.

Will I get a price before you start?

Yes, in writing, as one total with the soil test, permit and install as lines.

How long does an install take?

The work itself takes days once the permit is in hand. The soil test and the permit are what take the time, and we tell you where you are in that sequence.

Do you pull the permit?

We prepare the permit paperwork for your county after you sign the plan. The county sets its fee and inspects the system before we cover it.

Repair or replace?

Often a repair is enough: a pump-out, a cut line, a failed pump. We tell you which one you have, and show you what we found, before we price a replacement.

Is the problem the house drain or the septic system?

One slow fixture is usually a drain. Every fixture slow, plus a wet yard or a smell outside, points at the tank or the field.

What does a camera inspection show?

The inside of the pipes between the house, the tank and the field: roots, cracks, sags and blockages. You see it on screen, and we write down what we saw.

What does the warranty cover?

Terms for workmanship and equipment are written on your estimate, with the limits and exclusions. Read them before you sign.

I am buying a house with septic. What should I do?

Ask for a septic inspection before closing. The inspection window is short, so call us the day the contract is signed.

Where and when do you work?

Four Gulf Coast counties, Monday through Friday and Saturday mornings. The service area page lists the towns, and the hours are in the footer.
